"Georgian Dream" deputy Irakli Zarkua appeals to the Minister of Foreign Affairs to take an interest in the work of the German ambassador to Georgia, Peter Fischer, and to start the procedure of recalling him from the country.
Zarkua believes that the German ambassador "has confused his rights and duties and is now causing harm".
In addition, Irakli Zarkua compares the German ambassador to the chairman of the German Bundestag's foreign affairs committee, Michael Roth.
"The German ambassador is a bit confused about his rights and duties. I think he is somewhat confused and lost in his duties. I would appeal to Mr. Fisher to understand his rights and duties well. I think that the government of an independent country should not speak in this tone, especially those who were appointed. I don't know if you have legitimacy or not, because the government that appointed you has collapsed. You dare to enter into controversy and make political statements. As for the economic direction, if you know, it seems that you missed this nuance. It is your neighbors from Eastern Europe who have overtaken Georgia, for example, in trade with Russia, in the direction of wine. See Latvia and other countries. This again indicates that this is a double standard. If you are in favor of radicals, keep it to yourself, it does not suit your mandate. I would like to contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, maybe they will be interested in the activities of this ambassador here. I would like to start the process of recalling this ambassador at all because he is not in line with the mandate that he is here with. I do not think that he will be able to bring something positive to the relationship between the German and Georgian people. On the contrary, I think it is harmful now. I don't know what the order is. In fact, he is "Roth 2". I want to address these "Roths": the government that appointed you has been dissolved. Scholz's government, the coalition collapsed. You do not have legitimacy, and if you talk in this tone to the government elected by 54%, it will not go away! I will contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. I will probably ask the new minister to take an interest in this person and what we are dealing with. The German ambassador with his statements and actions does not comply with the ambassador's mandate," said Zarkua.
