There is a verbal confrontation in the Georgian public broadcaster building.

The situation between the participants of the demonstration and the director of the television station, Tinatin Berdzenishvili, became tense after Berdzenishvili announced that she would personally host the airtime planned for the protest participants.

“Now we are talking about a live broadcast that should be broadcast on this channel. I am the defendant in all the accusations related to this channel, not any other journalist. Therefore, I will sit on the air. Explain what the problem is,” Berdzenishvili said.

“Why are you sitting on the air, do you know? All the journalists probably refused you to do that broadcast, and that’s why. Now you have decided to sit down. I think exactly that,” the participant of the demonstration said.

In response, Tinatin Berdzenishvili noted that it was her decision to take the live broadcast.

We would like to remind you that a protest rally of various civil movements, media representatives and citizens is underway near the building of the Georgian Public Broadcaster with slogans such as “Public Liar”, “Expose the Regime”. The participants of the rally entered the building and are demanding airtime, to which the General Director of the television station, Tinatin Berdzenishvili, noted that the protest participants will be given airtime at 20:00.

The participants of the rally are demanding that the broadcast be hosted by TV presenter Nino Zautashvili.
