According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the protesters forced the employees of the Emergency Management Service to empty the water tank from the fire truck.
As stated in the statement issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the protesters blocked the road of the fire truck, which was on its way to respond to the fire, and threw various objects at the vehicle.
“We would like to inform the public about another destructive and illegal action committed by the protesters.
The Public Management Center 112 received a report that there was a fire in the area of the Gvino cafe located on Republic Square, near the Radisson Hotel.
Based on the received report, firefighters from the Emergency Situations Management Service were moving in a fire truck, when the protesters blocked the road and did not allow the firefighters to reach the scene of the incident. Citizens were hitting the car with their hands and various objects.
Also, the protesters themselves tried to open the water tank tap, which forced the firefighters to drain the water from the fire truck themselves.
We would like to emphasize once again that the actions of the protesters go beyond any form of protest.
We warn the aggressive participants of the protest to stop their illegal actions, and we also call on media representatives and every citizen to refrain from spreading misinformation,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement.
