Edgars Rinkēvičs: The Baltic countries were the first to impose personal sanctions, our diplomats will work in this direction within the EU as well - we will find the best way to support Georgia

We should somehow politically and symbolically support Georgia. Whether these are joint visits or others, the President of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs, said about it.

According to him, the Baltic countries were the first to impose personal sanctions on the representatives of the Georgian government, and this is the direction in which they will work within the European Union.

"Let's not forget that the Baltic countries were the first to introduce personal sanctions. This is the direction in which our diplomats will also work within the EU, but a consensus is needed. This issue will be discussed in the coming days. I think we will find the best way to support Georgia, but I think we will talk about these ways with the leaders of like-minded countries," said the President of Latvia.
