There are alarming reports about the arbitrary detention of protesters in Georgia, violence against them and improper treatment, - Annita Hipper, the chief press-spokesperson of the European Union in matters of foreign and security policy, writes on X.

"We call on the authorities to stop using excessive force and ensure freedom of assembly. All acts of violence must be investigated immediately," said Kaja Kallas's spokesperson.
