According to Dito Sadzaglishvili, the lawyer of "Coalition for Change" leader, Nika Gvaramia, the law enforcement officers physically assaulted Nika Gvaramia at the time of his arrest. The lawyer stated this after a meeting with Nika Gvaramia in the Marneuli temporary detention center.
According to him, at the moment, Gvaramia's health condition is satisfactory.
"At the moment of arrest, Nika Gvaramia was physically assaulted. In particular, he was hit in the abdomen, and during one of the blows, he stopped breathing for a few seconds, but overall, his state of health is satisfactory. He is fine and does not talk about his health at all.
He accidentally eavesdropped on the policemen's conversation, and is arrested for petty mischief and failure to comply with the policeman's request. These are administrative offenses. A trial must be held within 48 hours.
He thinks that now is the time for the Georgian people to calmly, firmly and courageously continue protesting and fighting against the Russian regime," Dito Sadzaglishvili told "Mtavari Arkhi".
Nika Gvaramia, one of the leaders of "Coalition for Change", was transferred to the Marneuli detention center.
