UN Secretary General urges parties in Georgia to refrain from actions that could lead to further violence

We observe the developments in Georgia with concern and emphasize the importance of respecting freedom of expression and peaceful assembly, - said the spokesman of the UN Secretary General, Stéphane Dujarric.

According to him, it is equally important that all reports of human rights violations are investigated in a timely manner and with complete transparency.

"The Secretary-General calls on all actors to refrain from actions that could lead to further violence and to try to overcome differences through dialogue," said Stéphane Dujarric.
