According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of the investigative actions, it was determined that the defendants were committing violent acts in a group during the ongoing rallies on Rustaveli Avenue.
According to them, the crimes are punishable by up to 9 years in prison.
“As a result of the operational measures and investigative actions carried out, officers of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have detained 3 people for organizing, leading and participating in group violence.
L.J., born in 2004, has been detained on charges of organizing and leading group violence, and G.T., born in 1971, has been detained on charges of organizing and leading group violence. and R.K., born in 1998, are accused of participating in group violence.
The crimes are punishable by up to 9 years in prison.
As a result of the investigation, it was determined that the defendants committed violent acts in a group during the ongoing protests on Rustaveli Avenue, resisted and disobeyed law enforcement officers present at the scene to maintain order, and threw various objects at them.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing under Parts 1 and 2 of Article 225 of the Criminal Code.
An investigation is underway under Articles 225, 239, 187, 353 and 18-229 of the Criminal Code into the facts of organizing, leading or participating in group violence during the protests on Rustaveli Avenue, publicly calling for violent action, as well as preparing an explosion, attacking the police and damaging property.
26 people have been detained by employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs as part of the investigation, - the information released states.
