Tamar Kordzaia: targeted persecution of journalists is carried out - there are so-called buffer zones, where employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs beat detained protestors in their cars

Targeted persecution of journalists is carried out, the authorities do not want real evidence and footage of their brutality to exist - there are so-called buffer zones, where employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs beat arrested protestors in cars, and they do not let anyone near the car, they simply do not give an opportunity for an objective eye to see "Cruelty," said Tamar, one of the leaders of "Unity - National Movement". Kordzaia said at the joint briefing of the opposition parties.

According to Tamar Kordzaia, 3 main problems appeared during the ongoing protests in recent days.

According to her, the problem is the persecution of journalists, the so-called Buffer zones, where physical retribution is being carried out against the detained protestors, and thirdly, illegal searches conducted in political parties and civil movements in recent days.

"Events are moving so fast before we document this information, I want to draw the public's attention to three important components.

First, it is the journalists who are targeted for persecution. Journalists, photographers and operators are vulnerable. The authorities do not want real evidence and footage of their atrocities to exist.

The second issue is the brutality that MIA officers commit against detained citizens, which is carried out in the so-called buffer zone. Citizens are beaten in cars after arrest, and no one is allowed to get to the car, they simply do not give an opportunity for an objective eye to see the cruelty.

They get salaries from our budget for beating people, then they treat these beaten people with our money as if they are kind, and finally they show us the bandaged people alone. The main thing that is happening is the area where people are being physically assaulted in cars, which should definitely be investigated.

They falsify documents and make people sign as if they received the mentioned injuries at the time of arrest, although the example of Aleko Elisashvili shows that he did not receive injuries at the time of arrest.

Thirdly, the searches and seizures that took place in the offices of political parties, non-governmental organizations or various public movements are carried out in complete disregard of the Criminal Procedure Code. In no case has a resolution or a court ruling been presented in time, as we have seen, emergency entry is taking place, but in our case, in connection with the ongoing search in the office of the youth movement "Unity - National Movement", the resolution has not yet been presented," said Tamar Kordzaia. .
