"Democracy has ended in Georgia, this gives the society, including me, the right to resist in order to preserve the democratic state... I want to thank you very much, the struggle always makes sense", - said Tshekladze.
He also appealed to the law enforcement officers and explained that he was one of the organizers of the April-May rallies, then young people sang and danced, and now they used pyrotechnics.
"I want you to think, why did the society come to this point, what alternative did the state leave?" Tsketsladze said.
The arrested persons - Zviad Tshekladze, Vasil Kadzelashvili, Vefkhvia Kasradze, Irakli Miminoshvili, Insaf Aliyev, Tornike Goshadze and Giorgi Giorgadze enjoy the right to remain silent.
Three of the defendants - Zviad Tsetskhladze, Vefkhvia Kasradze and Vasil Kadzelashvili - are accused of organizing and leading group violence. They face imprisonment from 6 to 9 years.
Five of the defendants - Irakli Miminoshvili, Insaf Aliyev, Tornike Goshadze and Giorgi Giorgadze - are accused of participating in group violence. They face imprisonment from 4 to 6 years.
For information, within the current rallies, 13 persons have been arrested under Articles 225 and 239 of the Criminal Code, which means organizing, leading or participating in group violence and publicly calling for violent action.
And, 1 person is arrested on charges of preparing an explosion.
Also, within the framework of the current actions, the investigation is being conducted under Articles 187 and 353 of the Criminal Code, which refers to an attack on a police officer and damage to someone else's property, within the framework of which 9 people have been arrested at the moment.
