Ombudsman: Some of those arrested at the rally claim that the police abused them during their detention and transportation - the police do not return their confiscated phones and other personal items

The Public Defender of Georgia, Levan Ioselian, visited 34 people detained at the rally in the temporary detention center in Tbilisi and Sagarejo.

The office of the ombudsman disseminates information about this.

According to their reports, some of the detainees had injuries and as they say, the police abused them during their detention and transportation.

"The public defender provided the information about all the facts to the special investigation service.

The public defender emphasized that the Ministry of Internal Affairs should also pay attention to the issue of the loss of belongings of the arrested persons by the law enforcement officers, since some of the arrested persons indicated that the police no longer return the phones and other personal belongings seized during the arrest", - it is mentioned in the published information.
