The court released two people arrested during the protest from the courtroom after giving them verbal warnings, and fined one of them 2,300 GEL

The trial of those arrested during the protest was held at the Tbilisi City Court.

Among the detainees are Sandro Metreveli, Nika Beridze and Nika Svanidze, participants of the “Book Shelf”. Nika Beridze and Nika Svanidze were released with verbal warnings, while the judge imposed a fine of 2,300 GEL on Sandro Metreveli.

“I was on the sidewalk when, without warning, about 10 people quickly moved towards us. Their goal was to detain someone. I did not do anything wrong. The police officers presented testimonies that were inconsistent with each other. Accordingly, the judge released me from the courtroom with a verbal warning,” said Nika Beridze.

According to Sandro Metreveli’s lawyer Nino Lominadze, her client has injuries.

“We have also provided information to the investigative body regarding this. "He was physically assaulted during his arrest. He is charged with resisting a police officer and petty hooliganism," the lawyer said.
