Maka Bochorishvili: We value the partnership with the European Union, with each of its member states, - unfortunately, some internal and external actors use this vital issue only for political speculations

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Bochorishvili, states that European integration is a "key priority" for the "Georgian Dream". Maka Bochorishvili announced this at the press conference held with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Péter Szijjártó.

According to Maka Bochorishvili, the key foreign priorities of Georgia are European integration, this priority is supported by "our history, our identity and the will of the Georgian people".

In addition, according to the minister, the extent of the attempt to delegitimize the democratic choice of the Georgian people is alarming, while more than 2 million Georgians voted in the parliamentary elections.

"The current government of Georgia created a solid foundation for the irreversibility of Georgia's European future in 2014, when we signed the Association Agreement, and to this day we remain very committed to the commitments related to European integration.

Unfortunately, some internal and external actors are using this vital issue only for political speculation. The European future, supported by the vast majority of Georgian citizens, is being used to exacerbate polarization in our society and create additional threats to the stability and security of our country.

We value the partnership with the European Union, with each of its member states.

Unfortunately, this is not always the case, and I would like to thank Hungary for respecting Georgian statehood, Georgian sovereignty and democracy.

The extent of the attempt to delegitimize the democratic choice of the Georgian people is alarming, despite the fact that more than 2 million Georgians voted in the parliamentary elections and expressed their political choice," said Bochorishvili.
