MEPs should know that any position they take and any resolution they issue is welcome, but in a context where hundreds of people are being tortured on the streets of Tbilisi every week and the regime is becoming increasingly brutal, not a single day is lost - I think they accept the will and desire of the tortured Georgian people, said one of the leaders of the "Coalition for Change", Nika Melia after the meeting with the MEPs.
According to him, the international partners already realize that the statements made and the resolutions developed need to be implemented.
As Melia points out, when you issue a resolution, it must be implemented, otherwise the document may even lose its value.
"It is clear to everyone that the Georgian state is in international isolation as long as it is kidnapped. This is known to everyone, but any of the best fans who come from the West, international partners, like our guests today, I think, already realize that the statements made and the resolutions developed need to be implemented. When you issue a resolution, it must be enforced, otherwise such a resolution may even lose its value. It is clear that there are different institutions within the European Union, in this case the executive branch should have played an important role until now. I think it will definitely be adequate in the process of fulfilling the will of the Georgian people. Simply, MEPs should know that any position they take and any resolution they issue is welcome, but in the context when hundreds of people are being tortured on the streets of Tbilisi from week to week and the regime is becoming more and more brutal, not a single day is lost. In this regard, I think they listen to the will and desire of the tortured Georgian people," said Melia.
