More than 150 police officers are injured, and most of them have both lacerations and burns, which were probably caused by pyrotechnics - it is a very correct regulation that the Parliament of Georgia establishes, - the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Aleksandre Darakhvelidze, told reporters.
According to him, as a result of the use of pyrotechnics, significant damage was done to the parliament building.
"We, of course, welcome the draft law prepared by the Parliament of Georgia, which provides for the introduction of certain regulations during the assembly-manifestation. As you know, the assembly-manifestation should be of a peaceful nature, and if it turns into a violent category, in this case the police will act in accordance with the law. Analysis of recent days and the current year has shown that pyrotechnics, which are actively used by violent groups, are very damaging, both to people and to infrastructure. Especially in the case of the policemen, it should be noted that more than 150 policemen are injured, and most of them have both lacerations and burns, probably caused by pyrotechnics. In addition, you have seen that the Parliament building has suffered significant damage. In fact, the front facade and the offices on the Chichinadze side have been destroyed. All this is the result of that. That is why the regulation established by the Parliament of Georgia is very correct," said Darakhvelidze.
