Tina Khidasheli: the elections that will be held tomorrow in the parliament will be illegal and unconstitutional - by holding it, specific articles of the constitution are violated

The elections that will be held tomorrow in the Parliament of Georgia will be illegal and anti-constitutional, I say emphatically, not only because Kavelashvili is appointed as president by the illegitimate parliament, but also because specific articles of the Constitution are violated by holding these elections, - the former Minister of Defense said , Tina Khidasheli said.

As Khidasheli noted, the election of the president will take place in violation of the terms established by the constitution and law.

"Since tomorrow, the self-proclaimed Parliament of Georgia has appointed the procedure for the appointment of the president, it is necessary for the public to know that we will be dealing with another illegality and unconstitutional action. This is not only due to the fact that the illegitimate parliament has to elect the president tomorrow, it is a huge problem in itself, when the illegitimate parliament, recognized by no one, continues a series of illegal actions, but in this case, additionally, regarding the election of the president itself, the Georgian parliament once again violated the constitution and the election law. In particular, we are dealing with the fact that the law of Georgia clearly states that for the election of the country's president, it is necessary to have a 30-day period in order for the candidates to have the appropriate time to conduct the election campaign. The Election Code provides for the only case when different deadlines can be set by the CEC, and this case says that only if there is an exceptional case and it is impossible to meet the deadlines, it is possible that a different schedule can be determined. In its resolution, the Parliament of Georgia did not say a single word about what is happening in the country in such a way that keeping the 30-day deadline has become unthinkable and impossible for them to hold presidential elections. Personally, I have no explanation why they are in such a hurry. As the session of the Parliament was convened absolutely illegally, they did not wait for the decision of the Constitutional Court and convened the first session in violation of the requirements of the Constitution, that's exactly how they conduct the presidential elections in violation of the terms set by the Constitution and the law.

The elections that will be held tomorrow in the Parliament of Georgia will be illegal and anti-constitutional, I say emphatically, not only because Kavelashvili is appointed as president by the illegitimate parliament, but also because specific articles of the constitution are violated by holding these elections. Accordingly, all the actions that the people will carry out tomorrow, in that building, at 8 Rustaveli Street, when they are intruded and arrested, all these actions will be declared illegal and null and void, as soon as fair justice returns to this country," Khidasheli said.
