Lawyers are holding a protest in front of the Supreme Court.

Representatives of the field of law brought banners of different contents and the Constitution of Georgia to the place. They demand the release of the persons arrested during the demonstrations and the holding of new elections.

"These papers were distributed to us by our young lawyers as a symbol that only the cover is left of the constitution and nothing else is guaranteed in this country. All our constitutional guarantees, including basic human rights and freedoms, which are written in the Constitution, should have been guaranteed by this institution and the judiciary as a whole. These processes have shown that much worse than violent and cane-wielding police is a violent judicial system that legalizes violence, human torture, inhumane treatment. That's why we came here. Today we are actually participating in a spectacle at court proceedings, nothing is decided there, the fate of justice is decided somewhere else, with one person, and I am sure that everyone in this country already knows that, there is simply no more place where we can protest and we, like many professional unions, are complaining It is in the place where our rights should be protected", former prosecutor Maia Mtsariashvili said.
