Dutch MEP Thijs Reuten is responding to the legislative amendments made by the Georgian Parliament to the Civil Service Law and the Code of Administrative Offenses, stating that “full crackdown on civil rights in Georgia on its way”.

“We knew this was going to happen. In addition to the repressive measures we already saw, GD steadily but decisively tightens its grip on society. Straight from the autocrats playbook”, he tweeted.

The MEP believes that sanctions are needed.
