Mamuka Khazaradze: "I want to directly call on the business community to organize a warning strike, even for two hours. Let everyone stop their operations at the same time, come outside with a single message: We are on strike!"
The leader of Strong Georgia, Mamuka Khazaradze, made this statement on social media.
According to Khazaradze, such a strike would serve as a warning and a serious wake-up call for the government.
"When 2,000 organizations and businesses stand together and demand the release of political prisoners and new elections to defuse the crisis, it is not just a simple unification — a new business community is being born: free and determined, ready to stand up and speak out whenever necessary.
Here and now, I want to call on the business community to organize a warning strike, even if it’s just for two hours.
Let everyone simultaneously stop their operations, come outside, and display the message: We are on strike!
This will be a warning, a very serious wake-up call for the government, because the next strike might take on a different form.
All power must be taken back into our hands because these people, including the so-called Prime Minister, are getting paid from the taxes businesses contribute, yet they come and threaten you instead of treating you with respect.
I urge those businesspeople who have not yet joined this process: Friends, I am not forcing anyone, but let’s not wait until it’s too late, because this is not just about the well-being of your company — it’s about the future of our country!" Khazaradze wrote.
