On behalf of myself and my people, I sincerely congratulate Your Excellency on your election as President of Georgia, - this is stated in the congratulatory letter of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

As Erdogan notes, he hopes that during the term of office of Mikheil Kavelashvili, the existing relations between Georgia and Turkey will further develop.

As a reminder, on December 14, the electoral college elected Mikheil Kavelashvili as president.
