Gia Volski: They Want to Push Salome Zurabishvili to Take a Step That Contradicts the Constitution and Constitutes a Criminal Offense – Discussions About Organizing Elections Are Pure Theater

"They want to force Salome Zourabichvili to take a step that not only contradicts the constitution but also constitutes a criminal offense. The president has the authority to dissolve parliament only if the parliament declares no confidence in the government or fails to approve the government, leaving the country without governance," said First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Gia Volski in an interview with journalists.

According to Volski, discussions about organizing elections are merely theatrical.

"The main issue here is that, in their view, the president would sign a decree to dissolve parliament. This is the central axis of their narrative; everything else is merely decoration. In reality, they are trying to push Salome Zourabichvili to take a step that is unconstitutional and constitutes a criminal offense, because she has the right to dissolve parliament only if the parliament expresses no confidence in the government or fails to approve it, thereby leaving the country ungoverned.

This has not happened. Since this scenario is not unfolding, their aim is to drag the president into this scheme, which clearly indicates an attempt to develop and continue a revolutionary agenda. The people currently surrounding the president are the same ones who just yesterday were verbally attacking her in the harshest terms.

The president has already violated the constitution multiple times, and everyone knows that any further development of this scenario can only occur through revolutionary means.

In reality, what has happened is that parliament was elected, with 1,120,000 people supporting the Georgian Dream. Parliament approved the government, which has a program and significant obligations to the public, including those who are politically opposed, to ensure stability in the country.

This is the current situation. They want to create a new reality, where actions provoke conflicts between society and law enforcement, resulting in certain violations, including brutal, provocative attacks on the police.

This is the whole scenario, and society must keep a close watch on it," Volski stated.
