After Rustaveli Avenue was blocked and vehicle traffic restricted, participants of the "Magical Night of New Year's Protest" began setting up a New Year's feast.

Citizens brought tables to the avenue and arranged them along the central section of the roadway.

The tables stretch from Freedom Square to the Tbilisi Marriott Hotel.

The protesters initially intended to extend the feast all the way to Republic Square, but patrol police stationed near the Tbilisi Marriott Hotel did not permit this.

Symbolically, the feast was decorated in the colors of the Georgian flag: red and white.

Actors, singers, doctors, civil society representatives, and students are participating in setting up the feast. They have brought traditional Georgian dishes to share.
