At the Tbilisi City Court, a hearing is underway for Zviad Tsetskhladze and seven other individuals charged with organizing group violence during the protest rallies near Parliament.
In today’s court session, the pre-trial detention of the accused—Zviad Tsetskhladze, Vefkhia Kasradze, Vasil Kadzelashvili, Giorgi Gorgadze, Irakli Miminoshvili, Insaf Aliyev, Tornike Goshadze, and Nikoloz Javakhishvili—will be reviewed.
The defense attorneys for the accused will request their release without any pre-trial detention and will propose bail as an alternative to the court.
According to David Chikhaidze, the attorney for Zviad Tsetskhladze, he will present medical documentation regarding his client’s health and request his release in exchange for a bail of 5,000 GEL.
Notably, three of the detainees—Zviad Tsetskhladze, Vefkhia Kasradze, and Vasil Kadzelashvili—are accused of organizing and leading group violence. They face potential sentences of 6 to 9 years in prison.
The other five detainees—Giorgi Gorgadze, Irakli Miminoshvili, Insaf Aliyev, Tornike Goshadze, and Nikoloz Javakhishvili—are charged with participating in group violence and face potential sentences of 4 to 6 years in prison.
