According to Chairman of the US Helsinki Commission, Congressman Joe Wilson, Congress is closely monitoring the ongoing events in Georgia, and this will impact future efforts to impose sanctions.

“All of those involved in the brutal crackdown on Georgian protesters be on notice: Congress is watching and this will inform future efforts in imposing sanctions”, he tweeted.
