The police have become involved in the conflict that occurred in Abu Dhabi between members of the "Georgian Dream" party and citizen Lasha Gabitashvili. Nika Khatiashvili, a friend of Gabitashvili, confirmed this to InterpressNews, stating that Gabitashvili's goal is to ensure the perpetrators face justice.

According to Khatiashvili, one person has been detained in connection with the incident, but he does not have information about their identity.

"I’m not exactly sure who was detained. The person who threw the plate was arrested, but that's not our main focus. The physical violence was initiated by Irakli Zarkua and his associates. Lasha is working to ensure the case is properly investigated and the perpetrators are punished. The police are involved, and Lasha is actively pursuing legal action," said Nika Khatia.

He added that Gabitashvili is currently feeling well.

To recap, in Abu Dhabi, "Georgian Dream" MPs Irakli Zarkua, Viktor Sanikidze, and Gela Samkharauli allegedly physically confronted Lasha Gabitashvili. The footage of the incident has been circulating on social media.

The altercation reportedly occurred in a hotel dining area. The video shows Irakli Zarkua throwing food at Gabitashvili during a meal and physically confronting him, with Viktor Sanikidze later joining the scuffle.

Later, Lasha Gabitashvili released a video statement explaining that the incident stemmed from a previous confrontation in which he called Zarkua and Sanikidze "Russian slaves." During that prior confrontation, both parties exchanged verbal insults.
