The European Union Delegation to Georgia has issued a statement on the occasion of the Georgian National Flag Day, expressing its hope that “this flag will one day become part of the European family.”

As the Delegation’s statement on Facebook states, the Georgian national flag reminds us of the country’s rich history.

“On Georgian Flag Day, we are reminded of Georgia’s rich history and the resolve of its people.

We hope this flag will be part of the European family one day.

Let the Georgian flag always fly high!”, reads the statement.
