Levan Gogichaishvili: I saw how the police took away the head of the Sheraton security service - I have the impression that no investigative action was taken - this is a political crime, no one will "let this go"

This is a political crime, no one will “let anyone off the hook” - the regime is in control of everything and this is a fight, - said Levan Gogichaishvili, one of the leaders of the “Gakharia for Georgia” party, speaking about the attack on Giorgi Gakharia.

The opposition politician says that he has the impression that no investigative actions were carried out in the “Sheraton” hotel, where Giorgi Gakharia was attacked.

Gogichaishvili also answers the question about the possible destruction of video evidence and notes that it will be difficult for them to do this.

“I was here, how the police took the head of the “Sheraton” security service. They put him in some white car... I have the impression that nothing [investigative action] was carried out. They will tell you that it was carried out, but it makes no sense. Ultimately, all this will be reflected in the investigation protocol.

I think it will be difficult for them to do this [destroy video evidence]. "We will not only demand this, but we will also write to the central office of the Sheraton to put pressure on the local representative office so that they cannot destroy this [video evidence]. This is very serious evidence. This is a systemic crime, a political crime. No one will 'pass' this on to anyone because the regime is in control of everything and this is a struggle," Gogichaishvili said.

The leader of "Gakharia - for Georgia", Giorgi Gakharia, was attacked in Batumi. The attack on the opposition politician took place last night at the Sheraton Hotel. Gakharia was taken to the clinic, but later left the hospital. According to the doctor, Giorgi Gakharia has a fractured nasal bone and a concussion.

In addition to the attack on Giorgi Gakharia, a confrontation took place in the same hotel with Zviad Qoridze, a representative of the non-governmental sector. According to Qoridze, he was confronted by Dimitri Samkharadze, a representative of the Georgian Dream, and his entourage.
