Opposition politician Gigi Ugulava has responded to the attack on Giorgi Gakharia, leader of the "For Georgia" party.

Ugulava expressed solidarity with Gakharia.

"Solidarity and best wishes for a swift recovery to Mr. Giorgi Gakharia. Last night, he was attacked by 'Georgian Dream/Russian/sonder' deputies.

Let me also say this: Today, it no longer matters who did what in the past. Gakharia was the Minister of Internal Affairs when I and Goka Gabashvili were attacked by 'sonder' judoists at the airport, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs opened a case against me, as if I had beaten a European Vice-Champion in judo. We all have many sins, and we can only redeem them through fighting.

On one side, there are Russian zombies. On the other side, there are people—of all kinds, good and bad. We can only survive and prevail through human solidarity," Ugulava wrote.

For context, Giorgi Gakharia, leader of "For Georgia," was attacked in Batumi. The attack on the opposition politician occurred last night at the Sheraton Hotel. Gakharia was taken to the hospital but later discharged. According to the doctor, Giorgi Gakharia suffered a nasal bone fracture and a concussion.

In addition to the attack on Gakharia, a confrontation also occurred at the same hotel involving NGO representative Zviad Qoridze. According to Qoridze, he was confronted by Dimitri Samkharadze, a representative of "Georgian Dream," and his companions.
