A member of "For Georgia," Natia Mezvrishvili, submitted a motion to the Adjara Prosecutor's Office regarding the attack on the party leader, Giorgi Gakharia.
As Mezvrishvili wrote on social media, the motion includes demands to identify all perpetrators and the individual who gave the criminal order, and to initiate the procedure for arresting the accused.
“We submitted a motion to the Adjara Prosecutor’s Office with specific demands, including the identification of all perpetrators and the individual who ordered the crime, and the initiation of the arrest procedure for the accused. The Prosecutor's Office must urgently take over the case and prevent the destruction of evidence,” Mezvrishvili wrote.
For context, the leader of "For Georgia," Giorgi Gakharia, was attacked in Batumi. The assault on the opposition politician occurred last night at the Sheraton Hotel. Gakharia was taken to a clinic but was later discharged from the hospital. According to the doctor, Gakharia sustained a fractured nasal bone and a concussion.
In addition to the attack on Giorgi Gakharia, a confrontation also took place at the same hotel involving Zviad Koridze, a representative of the NGO sector. According to Koridze, he was confronted by Dimitri Samkharadze, a representative of the "Georgian Dream" party, and his associates.
