Guram Macharashvili: Giorgi Gakharia will certainly be held accountable for his actions - the incident shows his morality! Gakharia is more of a traitor than the collective "National Movement"

"Giorgi Gakharia will certainly be held accountable for his actions - the incident shows his morality! Gakharia is more of a traitor than the collective 'National Movement,'" stated Member of Parliament Guram Macharashvili regarding the confrontation that occurred at the Sheraton Hotel in Batumi.

Macharashvili referred to Gakharia as a "nonentity."

"After we saw Giorgi Gakharia's response to a journalist's question yesterday, in which he said that slapping a police officer is nothing and is a form of freedom of expression, and considering there were other things before, any further comments are unnecessary to understand who we are dealing with.

This person, who was an absolute nonentity about 6-7 years ago, was born politically in the 'Georgian Dream,' and 'Georgian Dream' gave him some significance, but then he turned and betrayed not only the government but also the country and the state. What is most important is that he continues this today.

He is worse than the collective 'National Movement' – the collective 'National Movement' was a traitor to the country from the beginning, and their morality hasn’t changed; they are still the collective 'National Movement.' This person has turned into an agent and speaks in an absolutely disgusting manner – he was the Minister of Internal Affairs and says that if a protester slapped the head of police, it was a normal occurrence," stated Guram Macharashvili.

Giorgi Gakharia, leader of "Gakharia for Georgia," was attacked in Batumi. The attack on the opposition politician occurred last night at the Sheraton Hotel. Gakharia was taken to the hospital, but later left the facility. According to the doctor, Gakharia suffered a broken nose and a concussion.

Media reports indicate that one of the individuals involved in the physical confrontation with Gakharia was "Georgian Dream" MP Dmitri Samkharaadze.

In addition to the attack on Giorgi Gakharia, a confrontation also occurred at the same hotel with non-governmental sector representative Zviad Khoridze. According to Khoridze, he was confronted by "Georgian Dream" representative Dmitri Samkharaadze and his associates.
