The United States condemns the ongoing violence by the "Georgian Dream" party against Georgian citizens, including opposition leaders, journalists, civil society members, and protesters, according to a statement released by the US Embassy in Georgia.

The statement notes that "such actions, which appear aimed at restricting the fundamental freedoms of Georgians, do nothing to bring Georgia back onto its Euro-Atlantic path—a goal supported by the majority of Georgians."
