"I congratulate Donald Trump, the 47th President of the United States, on his inauguration," wrote Mikheil Kavelashvili, elected as President of Georgia by the Electoral College, on social media.

Kavelashvili expressed his hope, stating, "I strongly hope that under his leadership, we can take Georgia-U.S. relations to a fundamentally new level."

"I wish President Trump success in achieving his stated goals, upholding declared values, and addressing global challenges!" Kavelashvili added.
