Tite Aroshidze, a former member of the Georgian Dream party in the Supreme Council of Adjara, has been appointed as the rector of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University

Tite Aroshidze, a member of the Georgian Dream party, has been elected as the rector of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The university's academic council supported him with a majority vote. According to the chairperson of the commission, Tite Aroshidze received 10 votes from the academic council, with one vote declared invalid.

The voting process was conducted secretly. Meanwhile, during the session, students held a protest in the corridor.

Tite Aroshidze stated that the interests of students will be considered at all levels.

"I will strive to ensure the university is balanced, providing equal opportunities for both lecturers and students in terms of education and development. The interests of students will be taken into account at all levels," said Tite Aroshidze.

The candidates for the position of rector were Tite Aroshidze, a member of the Georgian Dream party in the Supreme Council of Adjara, and Archil Guchmanidze, the chairperson of the board of the "Flora and Fauna" association.
