According to Kakha Gogolashvili, the Georgian Dream government will face difficulties in normalizing relations with the United States under the administration of Donald Trump

According to Kakha Gogolashvili, Director of the Center for European Studies and a researcher at the Rondeli Foundation, the Georgian Dream government will struggle to normalize relations with the United States under President Donald Trump's administration. As he told journalists, Georgian Dream has mocked Western and Euro-Atlantic values during its time in power.

"Everyone understands that resetting relations with the United States is primarily about recognizing values. Georgian Dream has mocked Western and Euro-Atlantic values during this time, referring to them with various derogatory terms. I believe it will be very difficult for the government to rectify this, even though Donald Trump is different. The U.S. remains a defender and promoter of Euro-Atlantic values on the international stage," Gogolashvili stated.

Regarding Georgia's current political situation and a path out of the crisis, Gogolashvili suggested that the solution lies in holding new elections.

"Everyone knows that the only solution is new elections, which would effectively lead to a change in government, rebuild trust in the country—both from investors and the population—and thus consolidate the nation. As for the current situation, we are in a dire state. It is impossible for businesses to have realistic, positive expectations when the rule of law is no longer upheld, and institutions are collapsing," Gogolashvili said.
