Giorgi Akhobadze to the prosecutor: I consider you a murderer! - You did not allow a Georgian mother to spend the last month of her life with her child

I consider you a murderer! - You did not allow a Georgian mother to spend the last month of her life next to her son, who is a doctor and who took care of her, - this is how drug-crime accused Giorgi Akhobadze addressed prosecutor Shmagi Gobejishvili at the court hearing.

According to Akhobadze, he had a seriously ill mother, with whom he was not allowed to spend the last minutes of his life.

According to him, his mother was a palliative patient, whom he himself cared for.

“He had two contacts with such a patient. Such patients are vulnerable to any additional health problems. Any viral infection can lead to their death. Only up to this point, you are considered a murderer by your decision and the requested preventive measure. We were forced to transfer my mother to a place with so many contacts. Although it is a hospital, I, based on my competence, had created conditions for her at home. The hospital has five shifts of nurses, five shifts of doctors, as well as administrators and registrars who come to see the patient - you have increased the patient's risk of illness and death.

Unlike you, I am on the side of truth and justice and I do not accept that you are being blamed for something that does not belong to you,” said Akhobadze.

According to him, he was not given the opportunity to take care of his mother

“You did not give me the opportunity to take care of my mother. Among other things, you did not give me the opportunity to provide the most important patient in my life with the care that absolutely all of my patients have received throughout my practice. I have not let any patient leave this world without that additional strength that goes beyond all medical protocols, and my colleagues may in some cases consider me a “water bird,” but there are specific people walking on earth today who are alive only because I did not stop providing them with emergency care for two hours instead of 40 minutes. Such specific people are alive, they were little children who are teenagers today, and you, with your unfounded and completely bloodless, insensitive decision, did not allow me to take the exact steps towards the main patient of my life that each of my patients has taken. This will be the case from now on, with such inner conviction I work and with such inner conviction I am a doctor.

I borrow from George Orwell that we are listening to a “walking phonogram” here now, and not to the prosecutor, who is supposed to represent the state, law and justice. You did not allow a Georgian mother to spend the last month of her life next to her son, who is a doctor and who took care of her. I want to ask you, comrade Gobejishvili, you have a mother, I wish her a long life and good health, I want you to go and ask your mother, how would such a man as I have spoken about before evaluate this man as a person? I am just curious. I do not want you to perceive this as the words of a person angry with you. You have your entire career ahead of you, you are a young person and I want you and I, citizens of this state, to live together in such a way that we do not harm each other, sometimes go beyond the framework in which some superiors, Vazha Zazaevich and others put us. If your parent gives you the answer, what kind of person is a person who would do all this to an absolutely innocent person, then look in the mirror and just try to never see such a person a second or more times during your career. I wish you this. You know this well about me and I would like to wish you with all my best wishes that you continue your career in such a way that you never see the person I was talking about in the mirror again. I really wish you this as a friend and well-wisher, otherwise you know better than me, what a mess your superiors are putting you in at this moment, a certain Vazha Zazaevich,” said Giorgi Akhobadze.
