Irakli Zarkua: We will respond adequately to insults - when insults affect family and children, the obligation of patience is of a secondary importance to me personally

We will respond adequately to insults. When insults affect family and children, the obligation of patience is of a secondary importance to me personally. What happened is not something to be proud of, - Georgian Dream MP Irakli Zarkua made his first extensive comment on the incident in Abu Dhabi on Imedi TV.

According to him, all this was a provocation against them, which was also shared by the Abu Dhabi police, prosecutor's office and court. As for the fine, Zarkua said, they had to pay a much smaller fine than the amount reported in the media.

"We had a noisy trip to Abu Dhabi. I would like to thank all the people who wrote to us during this period and told us that everything was fine and that we did the right thing. What happened is not something to be proud of, despite the obligation to be patient, we will always have such a reaction to insulting our family, children and relatives, because we are men and Georgians.

Look, on the first day, during breakfast, there was an attempt to organize a provocation, but he did not post the video, because the situation was not favorable for him. After that, in front of the hotel, when the husband and wife made a scene, naturally we responded. This husband and wife, with some kind of staged scenario, managed to film that section and spread what they wanted. Then the provocation occurred, which resulted in that result and situation.

They have quite strict laws, accordingly, an investigation was launched into this case. Other Georgians were also resting in that hotel, for example, the one who threw the plate. We don't know him, it seems that he got fed up with their provocations and threw a plate, which hit the staff working there and he was fined. People got so fed up with this provocation that they even threw a plate. We don't even know that person. Then there was a fine, and based on the fine, we were given the opportunity to leave Abu Dhabi. Despite the strict laws, the police, the prosecutor's office, and the court understood very well that this was a provocation against us. We have been here for the third day”, he said.

According to him, nobody is detained any longer for the incident.
