It’s just plain stupidity – we’ve started reorganization and many more people will be dismissed, who are to be dismissed and cannot perform their duties properly, – this is how Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze responded to a journalist’s question regarding the “political dismissal” of some City Hall employees.
As Kaladze notes, the reason for the dismissal of some Tbilisi City Hall employees was their “termination of contract.”
“It’s just plain stupidity. We’ve started reorganization and many more people will be dismissed, who are to be dismissed and cannot perform their duties properly. Giga Sopromadze and that person [Taya Makharashvili] both have their contracts terminated. The manager made the decision. When your employee’s contract expires, you make the decision to extend their contract, if you need them, and if they are performing their tasks and duties at the appropriate level that satisfies you.
I can give you many examples of people who had and still have different political views, different attitudes, who, for example, signed that petition and continue to work as usual," said Kakha Kaladze.
