According to the Special Penitentiary Service, Mzia Amaghlobeli, the founder of "Netgazeti" and "Batumelebi," is provided with adequate medical care tailored to her health condition and continuously receives all necessary medical services as prescribed by law.
As stated in the Service’s announcement, Amaghlobeli has been placed in a cell equipped with a video surveillance system to ensure immediate response, based on her best interests.
"The Special Penitentiary Service addresses the defamatory information disseminated by certain political groups and media outlets, alleging that the health of defendant M.A. is at risk and that the Penitentiary Service is neglecting her medical care. We would like to clarify to the public that defendant M.A. is provided with adequate medical care according to her health needs and receives all required medical services continuously as stipulated by law. Defendant M.A. is under constant supervision by medical personnel. Furthermore, to ensure immediate response when necessary and in her best interests, she is placed in a cell equipped with a video surveillance system. Her living conditions fully comply with the standards defined by the Penitentiary Code.
It is important to emphasize that the protection of the safety and health of every defendant/inmate is a priority for our service.
We urge certain political groups and media outlets to refrain from disseminating inaccurate and false information intended to discredit the Service and mislead the public," the statement from the Penitentiary Service reads.
For context, Mzia Amaghlobeli has been on a hunger strike for 16 days.
