Peter Fischer: The charges against Mzia Amaghlobeli and her pretrial detention seem excessive and unjustified

The charges against Mzia Amaghlobeli and her pretrial detention seem excessive and unjustified – where is the humanity? – wrote the German Ambassador to Georgia, Peter Fischer, on the social platform X.

According to him, the case of journalist Mzia Amaghlobeli is very concerning.

“The case of journalist Mzia Amaghlobeli is very bad. EU ambassadors met with the editors of 'Netgazeti' and 'Batumelebi' as well as Amaghlobeli’s legal team. The charges against her and her pretrial detention seem excessive and unjustified. We all saw the video of the slap. Where is the humanity?” – wrote the ambassador.
