Giorgi Vashadze: For the first time, an international document has officially demanded the holding of elections - this is a very important precedent - Georgian Dream has isolated itself

For the first time, an international document has officially demanded the holding of elections - this is a very important precedent, transferable to other international organizations and countries, as a guiding principle, which, in fact, will support us in demanding new elections, - Giorgi Vashadze, the leader of Strategy Agmashenebeli, said when commenting on the resolution adopted by PACE on Georgia.

As Vashadze notes, the entry about elections in the resolution emphasizes that Georgian Dream is illegitimate.

"In fact, for the first time, an international document has officially demanded the holding of elections, which emphasizes that Georgian Dream is illegitimate and that new elections should be held. This is a very important precedent, transferable to other international organizations and countries, as a guiding principle, which, in fact, will support us in demanding new elections. This is the result of the struggle, the continuous protest that is taking place in the streets, and also the result of our unity. The united voice of the political forces and the civil sector was crucial. A completely new process is beginning.

As for Georgian Dream, their amendments did not find a single supporter. They did not even come to a vote, because no one supported them. This is the reality, they isolated themselves. So, new elections should be called before April. We will do everything to finally win; so that Georgia has a worthy representation here, in the Council of Europe, as well as in other international organizations.

With this document, in fact, Georgian Dream was limited to participating in any format where it can be represented on behalf of the Council of Europe. Be it an observation mission, assessment missions, working groups, monitoring groups or anything else. They have left their seat only symbolically, until they call new election. If they do not listen to all this, the mandate will finally be terminated. However, I hope and I am sure that by April we will have a completely different situation in the country. So, forward to victory! ”- said Giorgi Vashadze.
