Badri Japaridze: Georgian Dream has completely isolated the country from the civilized world through its efforts

Georgian Dream has completely isolated the country from the civilized world through its efforts, - Badri Japaridze, one of the leaders of Strong Georgia, stated at the briefing.

According to him, according to the resolution adopted by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the Georgian Dream delegation was limited in its powers and the necessary conditions were determined that must be implemented in the country.

“Yesterday evening, the Assembly of the Council of Europe adopted a very important and historic decision in Strasbourg. The Parliamentary Assembly of this most important European body fully supported the struggle of the Georgian people for justice, for a European future, and for the establishment of the rule of law in Georgia. The Parliamentary Assembly adopted a resolution, according to which the authority of the Georgian Dream delegation was limited and the necessary conditions that must be implemented in the country were determined,” said Badri Japaridze.

As Japaridze noted, the adopted resolution is of great importance in emphasizing that the entire civilized world supports the struggle of the Georgian people.

“This resolution was adopted unanimously, and instead of the Georgian Dream taking this decision into account, the Georgian Dream delegation declared that it would not participate in the work of the Parliamentary Assembly. This is exactly the reality facing our country, when the country is completely isolated from the civilized world through the efforts of Georgian Dream”, he said.

For information, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe calls on Georgia to hold new elections in the coming months, release political prisoners and continue its path towards European integration. Out of 134 deputies, 114 voted in favor of the PACE resolution, 13 voted against, and 7 abstained.

After the adoption of the aforementioned resolution, Georgian Dream announced that it was ceasing its work in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

As Tea Tsulukiani explained when announcing the decision, "a number of reservations in the document are unacceptable, as they are unfair and groundless."
