Next week, on February 4, the spring session of Parliament will open.
The spring session opens on the first Tuesday of February. On this day, a plenary session of Parliament will be held.
The XI convocation of Parliament is represented by 81 members of the "Georgian Dream," and within this Parliament, the "People's Power," which split from the "Georgian Dream," operates as the parliamentary opposition.
Opposition coalitions that passed the electoral threshold, however, declare the October 26 parliamentary elections to be fraudulent and illegitimate and have no intention of participating in parliamentary activities. Three political entities – "Coalition for Change," "Strong Georgia," and "Unity – National Movement" – appealed to Parliament in November of last year to annul the mandates, but the majority has not yet considered the issue.
Additionally, according to the "Georgian Dream," immediately upon the opening of the spring session, the issue of establishing a temporary investigative commission will be on the Parliament’s agenda, aimed at investigating crimes that occurred during the time of the "National Movement" in power.
