Searches conducted at the homes of Nikoloz Latsabidze and Dato Futuridze – MIA says investigation ongoing for public incitement to violence

A search is being conducted at the home of civil activist Nikoloz Latsabidze, and according to available information, a search is also underway at the home of Dato Futuridze.

Nikoloz Latsabidze's father told the media that his son is being punished for participating in protests.

"He attends protests, and that's why he is being punished. That's what I believe," Latsabidze’s father stated.

As the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) informed InterpressNews, the investigation is being carried out under Article 239^1, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which pertains to public incitement to violence.

"The Ministry of Internal Affairs has launched an investigation under Article 239^1, Part 1 of the Criminal Code regarding public incitement to violence. Based on operational investigative actions, the police have identified the suspected individuals and are carrying out relevant investigative procedures against them," the MIA stated.

Additionally, according to reports, the investigation is linked to graffiti with the phrase "Kill a Kozi" that appeared in various locations across Tbilisi, including metro stations.

According to InterpressNews, as of now, Nikoloz Latsabidze and Dato Futuridze have not been detained.
