The central highway is a strategically important facility, and blocking or obstructing it is punishable by law with severe sanctions—it is a criminal offense. Committing such an act as a group is punishable by imprisonment for 2 to 4 years," said Davit Matikashvili, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Procedural Issues, in a statement to journalists.
As he noted, anyone involved in such actions will be punished and held criminally liable.
"I urge everyone to think carefully before deciding to commit a crime, as they would be putting themselves in danger and harming both the state and their own freedom. The state will strictly protect strategic facilities and will not allow anyone to block highways. Naturally, all individuals involved in such actions will be punished and held criminally accountable. Those who propose, encourage, or support such initiatives will also face criminal liability. So, they should think carefully, refrain from committing a crime, and not put themselves in serious danger," said Davit Matikashvili.
