Giorgi Vashadze: The Ministry of Internal Affairs’ statement was meant to stop people from coming, but the people are here – We are united and defending our homeland - The more protest, the quicker we end the regime

"The statement from the Ministry of Internal Affairs was meant to prevent people from coming here – but the people are here, and many more are coming," said Giorgi Vashadze, one of the leaders of "Strategy Builder," in a statement near "Tbilisi Mall," where citizens were gathering.

He added that "the more protest and unity there is, the quicker the regime will end."

"The Ministry of Internal Affairs' statement was meant to stop people from coming here – but the people are here, and many more are coming. The important thing is that we are united, and we are defending our homeland. The more protest and unity, the quicker we will end this regime, and that is our mission, for Georgia to continue its path of democratic development," Vashadze stated.

When asked whether he expects arrests at today’s protest, Vashadze replied that "from a regime that relies solely on police forces, anything is possible."

"What else do they have left? They can’t stand in the streets, they can’t come out among the people, they can’t go anywhere. They are locked in their offices and hiding behind police force violence," Vashadze concluded.
