A rally in support of Mzia Amaglobeli is taking place near the Parliament. The participants of the rally are escorting the lawmakers into the legislative body with whistles and chants

Citizens are holding a protest near the back entrance of Parliament before the start of the spring session's plenary meeting.

The protesters are demanding the release of Mzia Amaglobeli, the founder of "Batumelebi" and "Netgazeti", who has been on hunger strike for the 24th day.

According to the protesters, journalist Mzia Amaglobeli is an unacceptable figure to the government, being punished for her statehood views.

They are calling on Georgia's General Prosecutor Giorgi Gabitashvili to immediately apply to the court with a motion to change her pretrial detention to a less severe sanction.

The protesters have brought various banners with slogans such as "Freedom for Mzia" and "Fight while it is not too late."

At the same time, citizens are escorting lawmakers into Parliament with whistles as they head to the first plenary meeting of the spring session.

Additionally, in support of Mzia Amaglobeli, the protesters are opposing legislative changes announced by the ruling party, "Georgian Dream," to the Criminal and Administrative Offenses Codes.

The protesters are chanting "Freedom for Mzia Amaglobeli" and "Fire to Oligarchy."

An unprecedented number of Ministry of Internal Affairs officers are mobilized around the Parliament, some of whom have set up a cordon near the back entrance of the legislative body.

For reference, today a plenary session of the spring session will take place in Parliament, where initially, Mikhail Kavelashvili, elected by the Electoral College to the position of president, will address the deputies of the "Georgian Dream" party with a report on important issues regarding the country's situation.
