Blogger Ucha Abashidze and his wife, Mariam Iashvili, have been found guilty by the court.

As "InterpressNews" has learned, Judge Mikheil Jinjolia sentenced Ucha Abashidze to 5 years in prison and Mariam Iashvili to 4 years.

The verdict was announced today. Since the case involved the personal information of victims, the court proceedings were held behind closed doors, and further details remain unknown.

For reference, Ucha Abashidze and Mariam Iashvili were charged under Articles 157¹ and 236 of the Georgian Criminal Code, which pertain to the illegal acquisition and storage of private life secrets, as well as the unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.

The investigation began on May 4, 2024, at the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in connection with an entirely different case
