Giorgi Kuchuashvili and Davit Koldari, who were detained during a protest against the so-called "agents' law," have been found guilty by the court

Giorgi Kuchuashvili and Davit Koldari, who were detained on charges of attacking a police officer and damaging property during a protest against the draft law "On Transparency of Foreign Influence," have been found guilty by the court.

This decision was made by Judge Mikheil Jinjiolia of the Tbilisi City Court. He sentenced Kuchuashvili to 4 years in prison and Koldari to 2 years and 3 months.

Giorgi Kuchuashvili partially admits guilt and acknowledges certain actions but insists that he did not attack the police officer. His lawyer disagrees with the legal qualification of the charge.

According to lawyer Lasha Tsutskiridze, the defendant picked up a half-empty plastic bottle from the ground and threw it, hitting a GDD officer in the face. Based on the victim’s testimony, this act caused him pain and injury.

Davit Koldari and Giorgi Kuchuashvili were arrested on May 12.

Koldari was charged under Article 187^1, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which concerns damage to another person's property—specifically, damaging a patrol vehicle. He fully admits to the charges against him.

Kuchuashvili was charged under Article 353^1, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Georgia (assault on a police officer in connection with the officer’s official duties), which carries a prison sentence of 4 to 7 years.
