Badri Japaridze: A police dictatorship has been established in the country – The only correct response is unified and continuous resistance

"It seems that Georgian Dream and its founder have a goal of further escalating the situation in the country," said Badri Japaridze, one of the leaders of the Strong Georgia coalition, in a statement to journalists.

According to Japaridze, the only correct response to the police dictatorship is the unity of political parties, civil society, and all sectors of society.

"Georgian Dream is only leading the already severe political crisis into a deadlock. It appears that Georgian Dream and its founder aim to further escalate tensions in the country because this is exactly what the Russian security services want—to create extreme instability in Georgia. Today, we see that the Georgian Dream is practically being controlled by Russian intelligence services.

In such a situation, where a police dictatorship has been established in the country, the only correct response is the unity of political parties, civil society, and all sectors of society, along with continuous resistance against this unlawful and illegitimate government. Their attempt to intimidate the Georgian people and suppress the legitimate protests—continuously expressed by our citizens on Rustaveli Avenue and in different cities across the country—will have the opposite effect. Instead of instilling fear, this should lead to the consolidation of society. The intimidation tactics of such a regime must be met with unity. We will do everything to ensure that this unity remains unshakable so that the just demands of the Georgian people are fulfilled," Japaridze stated.
