There is no turning back – together, we will restore justice and peace in the country, reads a statement from the "Gakharia for Georgia" party.
The party's statement highlights that "the violent de facto government’s acts of violence against people and their hostage-taking" confirm that the ongoing, relentless protest of Georgian citizens is their biggest problem—one they have failed to suppress.
"The rushed criminalization of forms of free expression, legislative violence against protests, and its use as a tool for persecution clearly indicate the scale and power of the protest, which the de facto government, lacking legitimacy, cannot handle.
The number of political prisoners is rising, and legal persecution against them is intensifying. The newly arrested protesters face up to four years in prison. However, the Georgian people have always responded adequately to violence and injustice. There is no turning back, and through solidarity, mutual support, and a united struggle, we will restore justice and peace in the country.
This fight is being waged with the overwhelming support of the Georgian people, and it will end in victory!
Freedom for all political prisoners!" the statement concludes.
